Kanyemba Lodge is 55 kms from the Lower Zambezi Park entrance, hence we only conduct FULL DAY game drive and ONLY upon request.

We depart the lodge early morning for a boat ride (approx. 1h30min) downstream to the base camp of the Conservation where guests will transfer to our open top game drive vehicle.

The full day is spent in the National Park, exploring loops looking for 4 of the big 5 (elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard), as well as a variety of herbivores and birds.

After a picnic lunch, we wind our way back towards the conservation to transfer back to the boat for the trip back to the lodge (2 hours) - arriving around 5pm.

Due to vegetation within the national park, the game drive vehicles have no shelter from the sun, so a long-sleeved shirt is recommended in all seasons.

This is by request and is only available to guests formed by a minimum number of 4 pax staying for a minimum of 3 nights.

The Lodge:

Six stone and thatch "rondavels" Chalets, each with their own large private deck area overlooking the Zambezi.

Full ensuite bathroom & walk-in wardrobe.

All chalets have 220V electricity (mains with full generator backup), air conditioning, ceiling fans, WI-FI and canopy mosquito netting. Overlooking the river, the all-new restaurant and bar allow spacious & relaxed dining.

The family unit comprises 3 individual suites each with their own private entrance and en-suite bathroom but sharing a large deck area.

Guests can relax and enjoy the extensive library and spacious lounge with a view across the river – the perfect space to while away the afternoon! Each evening guests are treated to Kanyemba Lodge’s famous cuisine under the branches of a giant wild Mango Tree. With a distinctly Italian influence, our team of chefs will wow your palate at the same time as the “Kanyemba Chorus” of hyena, frogs, and of course the odd lion, will wow your mind. We also have a swimming pool beautifully situated on the banks of the river, with built-in benches that allow a retreat from the hotter hours of the day - whilst sipping a G&T and watching the elephants on the opposite bank.
